There is dirt all under my nails from repotting my watermelon plants today.  I should have done it much sooner, I just hope they survive in their new dirt.  My green beans are also now freakishly tall.  Remember that cute little sprout busting out of it's seed a week or so ago?  Here they are now:

I finally got smart enough to put a stick in the pot today for them to climb up.  They were clinging on to the window in a desperate attempt for something to hold on to.  Yes, I promise to move them outside soon!

Yesterday, while procrastinating reading my Black Death book (see sidebar) for history, I decided that my mattress was really old, so I threw it out, vacuumed and dusted where it had been, and stole a bed from one of the guest bedrooms upstairs.  Because I literally just threw the mattresses downstairs (I actually carried the bed frame part.  I'm cool like that.) The top mattress still has Rugrats sheets on it.  (I don't know why nobody ever wants to sleep in our guest room!)  I washed all of my bed stuff yesterday, so my regular sheets are all fresh and ready to go, but I have been lazy, and so the freaky little kids are still staring at me.  Hasn't stopped Lula from napping on them a lot, though!

I went out to Silver Dollar City to catch some Worldfest performances last weekend.  I caught two acts, which I share with you here in their photographic glory. (hah!)

(You might want to click these to see the larger versions, I had to scale them down a lot to make em fit on the page)

I wish I knew how to explain these guys better.  They are called the "Zebra Stiltwalkers" from Germany.  The ones in front are the hoppers, and those pointy-hatted ones in the back are Dervishes.  They um.. do stuff.  I need to get a video next time I go, because as they say "They provide the entertainment, and leave it to you to figure out how to explain it to your friends back home."  I have better pictures of them, but I love how this one is framed by the "mom and pop" people in front of me

This is one of the Italian flag throwing guys.  You may remember that I saw them last year as well.  This year they had a full band of drummers and trumpet players with them, but they just weren't as impressive as last year.

On my way home from SDC, I remembered that I was out of bottled water, so on a whim, I stopped at the grocery store that's right by my house, but that I've never been to before.  I probably won't go back much, because as I had guessed, they don't have much selection at all, but they DID have Cadbury eggs!  Everywhere else ran out of them way back before Easter, so I didn't get to eat my usual 99 dozen, but here the were in all their glory!  I bought 6, but really should have bought the whole unopened case they had.  Oh, Cadbury eggs, how I love you!  And to think that all this time, they were right at my doorstep!

Remember the pretty sand-colored carpet that I had put in back when we first bought the house?  All this time, it's been nice and clean and pretty, but this last week, it's had a really rough time.  First, I got a new fridge.  My old one started making funky smells, and it already sucked, so I gave in and got a new one.  Well, when the Fridge Delivery Guys wheeled my old one out, it leaked disgusting rust brown water all the way from my kitchen to the door!  Did Fridge Guys even offer to help clean it up?  No!  Luckily, it came up well, and now you can't even tell.  Well, a few days later, I'm making a sandwich, and decide I'm really in the mood for some chips and salsa.  I dump what's left of my jar of Mama Lupe salsa (remember her?) in a bowl, toss in some chips, and am walking back to the TV when the salsa bowl magically flies off my plate and splats! right on the carpet.  If it had fallen half a second earlier, I would have still been in the kitchen, and it would have landed on the tile, but nooo, right on the carpet.  This didn't come up as well as the fridge water, so I'll have to dig up mom's carpet cleaning thingey sometime soon.  Poor carpet.  But YAY, new fridge!  It is bright and shiny and a little bit bigger, and doesn't result in disgusting puddles of water on the bottom shelf every few days.  It doesn't smell!  It is brand new!  I am in love.

I have been watching E-Bay for MP3 players and PDA's lately.  Apparently, I am years behind in keeping up with cool technology!  Now if I can just find them super-cheap, I can be one of the cool kids.

Both the Blogathon (date unknown so far) and Project Blog (June 22) are running this year, from what I hear, so it's time to pick some charities to raise money for!  Suggestions?

Finally, as promised, *here* is the link to the Australia/NZ travel project I did for my geography class earlier this month.  Enjoy!

Comments are fun!  But not as fun as grasshoppers on stilts!
