My sweet Trinity passed away on Friday morning :(  I was getting ready for work when my mom came in the house, having made an early-early stop at the vet's to say hi to him, and told me she had him in the car.  At first, for a split second, I thought she meant that he was better and got to come home, but then the tone of her voice registered, and I knew.  The fact that I was already running late for work at that point, and had to leave about five minutes later sucked.  I broke down crying when I got there when I told Linda what was up, but managed to make it through the rest of the day.

I took a break at 11 to take Lula to the vet, half because she had a nasty looking cut on her belly that I wanted checked out, and half to make sure that she isn't sick, too.  I expected a huge fight to get her in the kitty carrier, and then for her to be in her pissy mood at the vet, but when I brought the carrier in and set it on the floor while I went to find a towell to put inside, she crawled right in!  Then at the vet's, she snuggled up against the vet tech and the vet like they were old friends, and didn't even mind getting her antibiotic shot, because it involved someone pulling on her neck (She LOVES when you pull up on her neck like a momma cat would when she picks up her baby).  Her cut was infected, so I have to give her antibiotics twice a day for 10 days, but otherwise she seems to be fine- thank goodness!

Pippin has always slept with Trinny before now, curled up together, so for the past few days, Pip has been curling up in bed with me at night.  He does love to snuggle!

It breaks my heart that tomorrow would be Trin's very first birthday.  I'm going to miss him like crazy!  I went to feed them yesterday morning, and it was so strange to only have three there.

I just went to my old blogger page to see what I was up to this time last year, and on May 30, it has my to-do list, which includes "Go to Springfield. Stop by middle sister’s house and pick out a kitten."   The day that I brought her home includes the words "and Lulu, last I saw, was trying to kill my plunger."

I haven't yet figured out what we'll do for the kitty birthday (given that we've been spoiling them like crazy ever since Trin got sick.  "Hey!  You want a treat?  Here, have half a bag!")  but I'm sure we'll come up with something.  I'm just sad that I never got to buy Trinny the cute tuxedo collar that would have looked so cute with his tuxedo cat coloring.

On a whole other subject, I went to Lowes for a few hours on Saturday, while mom was visiting my sister, and had all sorts of fun running around looking at every sort of home improvement tool, gadget, or product ever.  Ooh, look!  Paint rollers and drop cloths!  Mops!  Carpet samples!  Lamp shades!  Cabinets!  I've been mentally figuring out how to remodel my half of the Kim City house all weekend, even though we're not positive we're getting it yet.
